Ravidas Jayanti: PM Modi will visit Ravidas Vishram Dham temple in Karol Bagh

New Delhi: Sant Ravidas Jayanti is on 16th February. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Shri Guru Ravidas Vishram Dham temple in Karol Bagh, Delhi on Wednesday at 9 am. This information has been given through PM Modi’s Twitter handle. PM Modi on Tuesday tweeted, “On the auspicious occasion of Ravidas Jayanti, tomorrow at 9 am, I will visit Shri Guru Ravidas Vishram Dham Temple in Karol Bagh, Delhi and pray for the welfare of the people there.”

On Tuesday, ahead of the birth anniversary of saint poet Ravidas, PM Modi said that Ravidas had dedicated his life to eradicating vices like racism and untouchability. It still inspires us all today. Modi said that his government has assimilated the spirit of Guru Ravidas in every step and plan. In a series of tweets, the Prime Minister said, “On this occasion, I am reminded of some things about the holy place of Saint Ravidasji. In the years 2016 and 2019, I had the privilege of bowing and anchoring here. As an MP I decided to visit this shrine The development work will not be allowed to falter. In his memory, construction work is going on in full splendor in Varanasi. ” PM Modi is a Member of Lok Sabha from Varanasi.

Priyanka will visit the Ravidas Temple in Varanasi
On the other hand, Congress general secretary and Uttar Pradesh in-charge Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is scheduled to visit the Ravidas temple in Varanasi on Wednesday ahead of the Punjab elections. Located in Varanasi, this temple is highly revered by the people of Punjab and has many followers in the state. The state elections were also postponed at the request of the Chief Minister and the BJP. Elections in Punjab were originally scheduled for February 14, but were postponed till February 20 in view of Ravidas Jayanti. Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi will reach Ravidas birthplace in Varanasi late at night on the occasion of Sant Ravidas Jayanti. They will return to Punjab after visiting Ravidas’ birthplace at 5 am. After his departure, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Yogi Adityanath and AAP MP Sanjay Singh will reach Ravidas Mandir.

Punjab has about 32 per cent SC voters
Priyanka Gandhi’s visit is important as elections are scheduled for February 20 in Punjab and the state has about 32 per cent Scheduled Caste voters. The Congress has Dalit Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channy on whose face the Congress is contesting the elections. However, Congress says this is not the first time she has visited the temple.
